First round of Youth Research & Development Conference completed at Transneft East

The results of the first round of the 14th Transneft Youth Research and Development Conference (YRDC) were summarized at Transneft East. In total, 36 young professionals took part in the contest: workers of the company’s executive office along with employees of Irkutsk, Lensk, and Neryungri branches. The developments of contestants were divided between seven sections in accordance with various business areas of Transneft East.The jury thought high of the work submitted by foreman of the line maintenance division at PS-19 of the Neryungri branch Nikolay Trifonov about the monitoring of thermometric parameters in the linear portion of oil trunk pipelines.

As part of the section “Mechanical and power equipment, corrosion protection”, electrical equipment repair and maintenance fitter at PS-10 of the Lensk branch Andrey Kalibabov described in detail the negative impact of higher order harmonic components upon power equipment.

The first prize in “Economics, management, and legal issues” went to second-class economist at the executive office of Transneft East Mikhail Savchuk for his work on the efficiency of investment projects and preferential taxation for oil transporters.

The jury members noted the high potential of young professionals who submitted relevant and innovative works. The winners will take part in the main round of the YRDC to be held in February and March of 2017.
