Transneft East has held a tabletop drill (TTD) aimed at elimination of emergency (ES) consequences at Skovorodino oil pump station (OPS) No. 21, a production facility of the Neryungri Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate.
According to the drill script emergency activation of the seismograph station sensors at Skovorodino OPS-21 was registered with the recorded seismic activity of 6.5 points. The simulated earthquake resulted in an “oil seep” from the tank with the capacity of 50 thousand cubic meters located at OPS-21. The response to the simulated situation was practised in several stages. The first stage included measures aimed at the personnel protection and stability of operation of the Neryungri RPD facilities in the face of an ES.
During the second stage the company’s business units carried out emergency rescue and other urgent activities aimed at elimination of the manmade ES, restored the operation of the equipment for further oil transportation using the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean oil trunk pipeline. During the TTD the members of the Emergency & Fire Safety Committee (E&FSC) also practised the procedure of efficient and immediate cooperation in the face and in the process of the manmade accident elimination.
The drill involved the efforts and equipment of Neryungri line emergency operation division (LEOD) and the central maintenance division (CMD) as well as the professional emergency rescue team of Transneft East. 47 employees using 8 equipment units took part in the event.
