Transneft East passes integrated audit of management systems

Transneft East has undergone the second external surveillance audit to verify that the Company complies with the requirements for environmental management, occupational safety management systems and energy management systems set forth by the standards ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 50001.

The integrated audit was carried out in Irkutsk Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate as well as in Tayshet oil pumping station (Tayshet OPS).

The audit was performed by DQS, an organization certifying management systems (Federal Republic of Germany, Russian Branch).

One of the main objectives of the testing was to analyze the efficiency of transition of Transneft East production facilities from the ISO 14001:2004 version to the new ISO 14001:2015 standard. The new version of the above standard is characterized by the requirement to provide a lot of external reporting on environmental safety issues and methods of solving them, developed by the participants of the ISO 14001 system.

During the audit, specialists assessed the qualification of the employees, management of the production processes, preparedness of the facilities and personnel to emergency situations, and studied the supporting documentation. According to Vladimir Evtyukhin, Chief auditor, all the audited sites of Transneft East met the latest safety standards in terms of both ecology and occupational safety. The auditors noted that the Company’s specialists met all the requirements needed for implementing the environmental and occupational safety policies. Use of modern automated systems for monitoring compliance with the international standards was mentioned among the advantages of the management systems.

The audit results have proved that the environmental management system fully complies with the requirements of the new international standard. According to the results of testing, occupational safety management system of Transneft East is also efficient.  The auditor has decided to extend the validity of the certificates proving that the environmental management and occupational safety systems are compliant with the requirements of the international standards.
