Before the start of the academic year, Transneft East will have equipped classrooms for teaching exact sciences in five schools in regions of its presence.
On 1 July 2018, repairs will begin in these educational institutions, after which new school furniture and equipment will be installed in the classrooms. In addition, the following training materials will be purchased for each school: visual aids, devices for experiments as well as kits for laboratory studies and research.
The educational institutions that are to receive the charitable support are located in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) (in the cities of Lensk, Olyokminsk, Aldan and Neryungri) and Krasnoyarsk Territory (Angarsky settlement in Boguchansky District).
The renovated physics, chemistry, and mathematics classrooms will be available to high school students by 1 September 2018.
The educational environment improvement is being carried out within the framework of Transneft’s corporate school education development programme. The programme provides for opening exact sciences classrooms in 23 comprehensive schools and lyceums in all the four regions of Transneft East’s presence in 2017–2019.
In 2017, comprehensive schools No. 85 named after the Hero of the Soviet Union N. D. Pakhotishchev in Taishet (Irkutsk Region) and school No. 3 in the city of Skovorodino (Amur Region) received the necessary assistance within the framework of the corporate school education development programme .
In 2019, Transneft East plans to provide support for opening new exact sciences classrooms in educational institutions of Irkutsk Region (the cities of Nizhneudinsk, Vikhorevka and Angarsk and the settlements of Rechushka and Yantal), Republic of Sakha (Olyokminsk, Neryungri, Lensk and Aldan) and Amur Region (the city of Tynda).
The programme is designed to increase high school students’ interest in exact sciences. In addition, schools in the regions of Transneft East’s presence will be able to train students in subjects which are basic for engineering professionals.
