Transneft East has completed installation of reinforced concrete structures of a railway overpass in Irkutsk Region. Currently, preparatory works for the installation of bridge superstructures are underway.
The construction is performed at the 195.8th km of the Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean (ESPO 1) oil trunk pipeline (OTP) at its intersection with railway tracks.
Implementation of this project will ensure uninterrupted operation of the ESPO oil trunk pipeline and its facilities at this section. Prior to the construction of the overpass, crossing the railway line was problematic for utility vehicles: waiting periods for vehicles at an equipped railway crossing could last up to 4 hours.
The total length of the overpass and access roads amounts to 1.1 km. The 6.5 m wide structure has two technical passages. There are three reinforced concrete monolithic foundation frames up to 11 meters high with pile foundation. The roadway of the overpass has a 120 mm thick reinforced concrete coating. Retaining walls were installed on both sides of the structure, which prevents soil from slipping onto the railway tracks.
The project is being implemented within Transneft East’s technical upgrading, construction and overhaul programme.
The facility’s completion is scheduled for Q3 2019.
