Transneft East has completed construction of two oil meter skids at Skovorodino OPS-21 in Amur Region.
The meter skids are designed for automated measurement of technological parameters and quality indicators of hydrocarbons transported through pipelines.
The construction was conducted to ensure control over the quality of oil transported via the Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean oil pipeline towards the Russian Far East and via the ESPO-1 offshoot to the Russian-Chinese Skovorodino – Mohe oil pipeline.
The works began in March 2019. Two modular block buildings were constructed at the station. The blocks were manufactured by the Transneftemash Factory of Velikiye Luki, the smart technology for the data processing system was developed by the Industrial Automation Centre (Transneft Upper Volga’s subsidiary).
The new equipment allows to monitor and control physical and chemical parametres of hydrocarbons (viscosity, density, water and sulfur content) in real time. The operational information is used to control cargo flows and to create schemes of technological modes of oil transportation through pipelines.
The construction was carried out as part of the implementation of the facilities’ technical upgrading and development programme of Transneft East. The goal is to ensure a high level of control and operational safety of the East Siberia – Pacific Ocean pipeline system.
