Transneft East Supports Project to Create Chess Classroom at Secondary School No. 2 in Lensk

Transneft East has funded repair and equipping of a chess classroom in secondary school No. 2 of Lensk in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

With these funds, the premises were repaired, new furniture, multimedia and specialised equipment, teaching and visual aids were purchased.

“Playing chess is an effective way to promote students’ intellectual development, the new up-to-date chess classroom in the school will allow achieving great results both in studies and in extracurricular activities,” said Tatyana Suyanko, Headmaster of the educational institution.

Transneft East has been implementing the programme for chess classrooms development since 2017.  So far, more than RUB 2,5 million worth of equipment has been purchased for schools, leisure centres and chess clubs in the regions where the Company operates.
