Transneft East Completes Connection of Stop Valve Unit at Skovorodino — Mohe OTP

Date of publication: 19 May 2020

Transneft East has completed work on connecting a stop valve unit (SVU) to the existing Skovorodino – Mohe oil trunk pipeline (OTP) in Amur Region.

Equipping the oil pipeline with an additional stop valve unit will allow for quick disconnection of a particular section in the case of an emergency. The ultimate goal of the work is to increase operational reliability of the oil trunk pipeline.

The project implementation began in February this year. The set of construction and installation works was carried out 14 metres from the existing valve of the Skovorodino – Mohe OTP corridor, 14.3 km from Skovorodino PS-21 of Phase I of the Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean oil pipeline (ESPO-1).

The length of the constructed string, connected simultaneously with the SVU to the oil pipeline, is 128 metres. It also provides for building 10 new supports for the high-voltage line, installation of a control and monitoring station, installation of a cable tray and fences around the stop valve unit and a turning loop.

The project is being implemented as part of the technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme at Transneft East facilities.
