Transneft East has conducted nearly 1,500 sample analyses as part of environmental monitoring of wastewater, soil and atmospheric air. The analyses were carried out at operating facilities in Irkutsk and Amur Regions, Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in accordance with the approved environmental control plan.
The goal is to obtain reliable information about the state of the environment and monitor compliance with the requirements of regulatory documents of Transneft and federal legislation in the field of environmental safety.
Sampling is carried out using the instrumental method at operating facilities and underwater crossings of oil trunk pipelines in the areas the branch offices – the Irkutsk, Lensk and Neryungri Oil Trunk Pipeline Directorates – are responsible for.
In three months, 1,447 samples were analysed, including the quantitative chemical analysis of 1,059 samples performed by the laboratories of environmental and analytical control of Transneft East. Environmental experts also examined 374 samples of atmospheric air. 286 samples of natural groundwater and surface water were analysed to evaluate the quality of wastewater. Also analysed were 315 samples of drinking water and 84 soil samples.
According to the results of the analyses, no excess of maximum permissible concentrations of controlled substances was detected.
