Transneft East has completed works on revamping two sections of the Krasnoyarsk – Irkutsk oil trunk pipeline (OTP) in Irkutsk Region.
Scheduled works were carried out for a pipeline with a 1,000 mm diameter, at the sections located between the Nizhneudinsk PS and the Tulun LPA.
The old pipe was dismantled, and new sections with a total length of 1.7 km were laid and welded. After completion of the construction and installation, pipeline cathodic polarisation, hydraulic testing and in-line inspection were carried out. Upon completion of the set of measures, the oil pipeline was backfilled, land reclamation works were conducted, constant crossings were organised and road signs were installed.
The project for reconstruction of the Krasnoyarsk – Irkutsk OTP sections is being implemented as part of the technical upgrading, development and overhaul programme at Transneft East facilities. The goal is to ensure safe operation of oil pipeline infrastructure facilities.
The technical measures were carried out in accordance with regulatory rules and requirements of environmental legislation.
During the scheduled shutdown of the pipeline, new sections were commissioned. Oil transportation was resumed as scheduled and is currently carried out under the standard protocol.
In total, as part of the revamping of the Krasnoyarsk – Irkutsk oil trunk pipeline, 350 km of the line have been replaced since 2010.
