Transneft East Ensures Safety of Oil Trunk Pipelines in Fire Season

Transneft East is implementing additional fire safety measures at operating facilities in Irkutsk Region, Krasnoyarsk Territory, and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

At present, an emergency was introduced in these regions: more than 300 natural fires remain active.

In order to ensure safe operation of the Omsk — Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk — Irkutsk, Kuyumba — Tayshet and ESPO-1 oil trunk pipelines, the Company has checked the operability of firefighting vehicles, fire-extinguishing and water supply systems, put in place additional stock of fuels and lubricants, as well as other materials and equipment.

As part of measures to ensure high alert in the fire hazard period, the fire extinguishing teams at all facilities of the company were put on high alert, an algorithm for operational notification and interaction in emergency situations was developed. Earlier, 43 fire extinguishing teams were formed in the units, 86 units of firefighting equipment and 45 units of adapted auxiliary equipment were prepared.

All business units of the company carefully monitor the operational situation in the regions, ensure the implementation of all measures aimed at ensuring accident-free operation of pipeline infrastructure facilities,” stressed Aleksandr Puchkov, Head of the Fire-Safety Division at Transneft East.
