Transneft East has completed in-line inspection of two sections of the Krasnoyarsk – Irkutsk oil trunk pipeline (OTP) in Irkutsk Region after revamping.

In-line inspection was performed at the Nizhneudinsk – Tulun pipeline section with a total length of 5.1 km and at the Tulun – Kimiltey section with the length of 35 km. With the help of a high precision diagnostic device, the welded works were assessed and their high quality was confirmed.

The purpose of in-line inspection is to make sure there are no geometry deviations and possible defects in the pipeline and increase the level of its operational safety.

Earlier, hydraulic testing was carried out at these sections. The strength test lasted 4 hours, and the air-tightness test lasted 12 hours.

The in-line inspection and hydraulic testing of the sections are being implemented as part of the technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme at Transneft East facilities. The goal is to ensure safe operation of oil pipeline infrastructure facilities.
